Real time studio-quality reverb, chorus & delay magic, Looper & Drum machine integration, chromatic tuner, metronome, flexible undersaddle piezo & onboard condenser microphone with level control.

The Kepma AcoustiFex® L1 is state-of-the-art technology for acoustic guitar preamplifiers. It represents the latest and greatest of all of our preamps to date and gives you some amazingly creative features to inspire your playing. As with all AcoustiFex® preamps, you get stunning reverbs, delay and chorus when playing unplugged or with an amp.

Designed for modern creators and performers, the L1 Smart Loop empowers players to become a one-person band, seamlessly blending tone, rhythm, effects, and looping directly from the instrument itself.

A New Category in Acoustic Innovation

Unlike traditional pickup systems, the L1 Smart Loop is built as a complete acoustic ecosystem, integrating sound capture, signal processing, and creative tools into a unified experience. At its core is Kepma’s proprietary AcoustiFex® acoustic “exciter” technology, which allows players to experience immersive effects such as reverb, chorus, and delay even when unplugged, naturally amplifying sound through the guitar body itself.

Whether practicing at home, writing songs on the road, or performing live on stage, the L1 Smart Loop adapts effortlessly to any environment.

Professional Acoustic-Electric Performance

As a high-quality acoustic-electric pickup, the L1 Smart Loop delivers clear, dynamic amplified tone suitable for live performance, studio recording, rehearsals, and streaming. The system uses a precision piezo sensor bar paired with advanced digital processing, outputting through a standard endpin jack for easy connection to amplifiers, mixers, and PA systems.

When plugged in, the system activates automatically for plug-and-play simplicity. When unplugged, players can engage Vibration Mode, allowing effects and tonal enhancement to resonate directly from the instrument without external amplification.

Built-In Effects, Tone Models & Creative Control

The L1 Smart Loop features a suite of onboard tools designed to enhance musical expression:

  • Built-In Effects: Reverb, chorus, and delay, adjustable directly from the control interface

  • Tone Models: Optimized voicings for vocal accompaniment, fingerstyle guitar and strumming performance styles

  • Minimalist Control Layout: Three intuitive knobs, two navigation buttons, and an LCD screen for real-time visual feedback

These tools allow players to shape their sound instantly, without menus, pedals, or additional hardware.

Real-Time Looping: Become a One-Person Band

At the heart of the L1 Smart Loop is its integrated looping engine, enabling real-time loop recording and overdubbing directly from the guitar:

  • Supports up to six loop tracks

  • Simple record, overdub, undo/redo, and delete functionality

  • Ideal for songwriting, solo performance, improvisation, and practice

Players can record rhythm parts, layer bass lines or melodic figures, and improvise solos — all within a single performance, turning one guitarist into a complete ensemble.

Practice, Rhythm & Recording Tools

The L1 Smart Loop also incorporates tools designed to make practice more musical and productive:

  • Built-In Drum Machine & Metronome with multiple time signatures and rhythm styles

  • Integrated Tuner for quick, accurate tuning

  • OTG Internal Recording via USB-C, allowing direct connection to mobile devices or computers without an external audio interface

This makes the L1 Smart Loop a portable recording studio, ideal for capturing ideas anytime, anywhere.

Endurance & Portability

Powered by a 3000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery, the L1 Smart Loop is built for extended use:

  • Up to 8 hours in unplugged Vibration Mode

  • Up to 12 hours when plugged into an amplifier

  • Supports use while charging via USB-C

A Collaborative Innovation

The L1 Smart Loop Acoustic Exciter Pickup System was jointly developed by Kepma and DOUBLE Acoustics, combining Kepma’s acoustic instrument expertise with DOUBLE’s advanced signal processing and effects technology. The result is a system made specifically for acoustic players — not adapted from electric guitar or pedal-based designs.

The L1 Smart Loop Acoustic Exciter Pickup System debuts as a featured technology in select Kepma acoustic-electric models, including the F2S Lamplight. Additional implementations across the Kepma lineup will be announced in the future.

AcoustiFex® L1 Panel Controls:

The AcoustiFex® L1 Same-frequency Resonance Pickup features a simple and intuitive operation interface. When not connected to the APP, the system can be operated through the LCD screen display. The specific instructions are as follows:

[ Volume ] Turn the knob to adjust the volume without distortion. Long press to power on/off (LCD lights up or turns off). Short press once for the tuner, and press again to exit. A short press in other interfaces returns to the home screen.

[ Effects ] A short press of the button enters the effects interface. Another short press cycles through Reverb, Chorus, and Delay effects. Turning the knob adjusts the intensity of the effect and the speed of the delay. In drum machine mode, turning the knob adjusts the drum machine volume.

[ Drum/Loop ]  A short press of the button enters the drum machine mode interface. In the drum machine interface, when the drum machine is not started, rotating the knob switches between rhythms such as 4/4, 2/4, 3/4, and 6/8. After selecting the desired rhythm, a short press of the button starts the metronome. Once the metronome is started, rotating the knob adjusts the tempo. Two consecutive short presses enter the loop mode interface. In loop mode, a short press begins recording. After the initial loop recording ends, another short press waits for the loop to finish before starting overdubbing on the next track. Rotating the knob adjusts the loop volume. A long press of two seconds pauses the loop, and a double click followed by a long press deletes the loop.

[Multi-Function Buttons]

  • Home Screen: Short press toggles between tones: Direct, Singing, Strumming, Solo.

  • Effects Menu: Short press cycles through effects: Reverb, Chorus, Delay.

  • Drum Machine Mode: Short press switches between Metronome and Drum Patterns.

  • Loop Mode: Left: Mute/Restore drum machine; Right: Delete last track.

BLUETOOTH SUPPORT

L1 supports Bluetooth connectivity. If you wish to connect to the APP, please connect to "DOUBLE L1" within the APP. If you want to input beats or accompaniment via a Bluetooth device, connect to "DOUBLE L1" in your device's Bluetooth settings.

Battery Tab

No sound? On SOME AcoustiFex equipped guitars, there is a protective plastic “tab” installed in between the battery and the contact point that prevents the battery from discharging during shipment. This tab needs to be removed before the unit will charge or work when not plugged in.

Simply slack your strings enough to get your hand into the soundhole. The tab is located on the positive end of the battery, or the end that’s closest to the neck of the guitar. Gently pull to release the tab and toss it into the recycle bin.
